Richard Perini’s Farr40, Team Evolution finished 5th last week in the North American title, held at Newport Rhode Island.
The boys had a bad start to the event in placing 19th and 12th in the first two heats. From that point they sailed as well as anyone to climb back to 5th by the last race. (more…)
Richard Perini’s Evolution won the Farr40 Nationals in a dominant performance last week off Sydney’s Pittwater.
I have worked with these guys as a coach since October 2003. It is a pleasure to work with a team of blokes so committed to improving their sailing skills. This applies as much to off the boat with their fitness, as on the boat with all the finer details of combining and communicating as the strongest team they can be. (more…)
Team Evolution, helmed by Richard Perini won the Inner Circle Regatta at Pittwater over the weekend. The boys won with a race to spare, which is a top effort, given there are no discard races in the Farr40 class. There were 13 boats racing.
Richard Perini’s Team Evolution placed fourth at the Farr40 Alfa Romeo Regatta on Sydney Harbour over the weekend.
The last two weeks have seen activity in the Farr40’s with a keen group forming a training squad in the lead up to the a series of regattas that culminate in the Nationals at Pittwater in March.
The guys I coach on Richard Perini’s Evolution are the “drivers” behind the training squad, leading up to a defence of their world title in Newport Rhode Island this coming September.
Richard and the boys scorded a second placing to Vincenzo Onarato’s Italian team at Rolex 2005. Vincenzo and his team aboard Mascalzone Latino sailed a first rate regatta, but still they were almost overtaken by the reigning world champs. (more…)
Richard Perini’s Team Evolution won the Savills Keelboat Regatta in the Farr40 division over the weekend. The boys were rejoined by Kiwi tactician, Hamish Pepper, who won the worlds with them back in March. “Pepsi” missed the last event due to Americas Cup committments with the Italian team.
Richard Perini’s Team Evolution won the Rhodes Waterside Regatta at Pittwater over the weekend with a solid performance. With our regular tactician, Hamish Pepper in Valencia on America’s Cup duty, we had two local gurus in Michael Coxon and Rob Brown fill in. (more…)
